Let me just start by saying that marriage… is a BIG deal. It is the last biblical covenant that we can make with God and it is not to be taken lightly. Marriage is based on the most beautiful love story of Christ and the church and God is its author.
That being said, I want to ask you a question. Where did the idea to get married come from? Why does our society still do this to this very day?
One answer, the bible.
God created marriage between the very first man and woman who ever lived and every relationship since then was intended to be according to this purpose, “to better serve Christ.” As much as you can do to create a ministry to serve Christ, adding a partner to your life should multiply that.
Whether you are a christian, non-christian, straight or homosexual, if you want to “get married,” you need to know that the original idea to “get married” came from the bible. It came from God.
Just as you would not use a word in your everyday speech without first understanding the meaning, you would not get “married” without first understanding its purpose.
To better serve Christ and to represent Christ is its purpose.
This is why we as christians fight to keep marriage sacred. Marriage is beautiful, and the world has distorted that.
